saw The Road today. I liked most of the movie but the Hollywood music irritated me. I guess without music it would have turned into Cast Away and with a little more music into I Am Legend. It had an impact on me but I didn't cry like almost all women in audience (and some men).
... and I can prove it with my usual, flawless logic.

The 3D effects were awesome. The story was great. I have some quibbles here or there, but you're doing yourself a real disservice if you choose not to see this film, preferably in Imax. Is it just me or does anyone else object to the term "Earthlings?" It seems to me that the term is intentionally derogatory, implying that natives of Earth are inferior to natives of other worlds.

Imagine if natives of England were called "Britlings." Or natives of Germany were called "Germlings."

I prefer the term "Earthers" which I have seen in some sci-fi works.

All I can say is that we were incredible $^(#&!ed up the first three times I saw this. Perhaps the buzz continues to this day. Still, how can you not love lines like

Now I kind of want to see Better Off Dead just to figure out who is the crazy one. At least when I refuse to see Avatar I've finally come to terms with the fact I'm just being stubborn. Although the way those creatures look really does creep me out.

Tried to catch Avatar at the Imax but it's sold out even after so long. Watched a dvd, "The Wrestler" instead, simple and well told story. Really good title song at the end, I think the word is poignant.

If you liked Mad Max, I'd estimate there's about a 99% chance you'll like The Book of Eli. If you didn't, there's probably a 5% chance you'll like it.

i liked book of Eli...mild thumps up but mad max i recall as a much better movie for its time.


Funny enough over last ten weeks....."its complicated" is easily my fav movie over that time period. Perhaps I have a bias towards romance comedy

I just rented Taxi Driver....see it...it is a real classic and it holds up some 35 years later. Do you think the last, very last scenes are a dream sequence.......last thoughts in death?

i watched Sunshine Cleaning and A Serious Man this weekend, both are fun movies. I especially recommend the latter.

Saw shutter Island.........Many critics rave about it.....I give it a thumps up but I felt watching the movie I had seen this all before.

Strongly recommend you rent many of the director's older movies.



Wolfman was bad.

I thought sunshine cleaning and a serious man were ok...just ok.

i actually was surprised to like inglorious bastards as much as i did, though i'm not sure why - i like most of his stuff... i found the hurt locker a little too depressing

Zombieland is a great horror/comedy. Check out Slither, too.
