I do agree that when you finesse clubs trick 2 this is the right way to do it.
However I'm not too sure this is "clearly" the best play.
IMO the best way is to make the contract in all cases trumps are 2-2, and also with trumps 3-1 with a singleton honor and
♣ King third on.
At trick 2 play low So NOT
♠ T/9 to hand, if no honor is played cash the other top honor and if they are 2-2 cross to dummy in trumps to play
♣ Ten for the overtrick if KXX is on.
If an opponent plays an honor first round of
♠ lead low to T9 of trumps in dummy twice, to have a sure re-entry. To play
♣ Ten again to be able to pick up KXX.
Finally when it turns out someone had QJX in trumps you have the slim chance of a stiff
♣ K either side.
I don't think it makes a lot of difference but my instincts say this is a slightly better line.
