I was interested in methods over 2 because it caused damage (when I bid it) and I discovered later that even my own partner was not completely on the same wavelength.
But things are getting a bit ragged now, so let's step back to both hands together.

How would the whole auction go following your preferred methods, with EW silent from now on?

1-(2)-2N 4+ at least inv
3 (shaping out GF, 5+, 4 usually 2-2) - 3N (spade cue)
4(high card cue)-4 (kickback)
4N (0/3)-5 (signoff opposite 0)
6 (3)-7

It would be nice for Opener to be able to shape out with his second suit; unfortunately in our system we lose that possibility with 5+ 4 over a 2NT raise as 3 would already be a control-bid for us.

Our 2NT is 3+ here: Opener would probably check back on it with 3 receiving the reply 3 indicating 4+ and splinter, so now we are back on the same track as if Responder had splintered directly.

So assuming 2NT, it might go:

1 - (2)-2N 3+ at least inv
3 ask - 3 4+, singleton/void
4 control - 4 control
5 control, odd keycards - 5 control
5N denies Q - 6 control, Q or 5+
7 - P

South was unlucky that he ended up giving keycard parity rather than receiving it, as North might hold a stiff A rather than the more likely void. But if North does have the stiff Ace then we can count 13 tricks (assuming trumps 2-1) and if not he is very likely to hold a minor Q, given his invitational+ strength and the promise of only A K plus a probable Q.

If 2NT promises 4(+) hearts, how do you arrange your raises with 3 hearts?

Well opening bid only promises 4. Cue bid is specifically a 3 card raise, which is a bit clumsy here.

You are South now.
Not sure where that extra club cropped up: fixed, thanks - although you shouldn't be peeking the North hand at this point :)

I thought maybe that was the wood for the trees. Took me a long time to see it

It was NS at my table who I felt could not see the wood for the trees: after my 2S interference they bid an uncomfortable 3H 4H, with 4NT hanging in the air. I threw in 4S to add some further confusion and obtained a double which South passed, to the relief of everyone at the table except my partner :)
I was betting they had a slam and I was ready to pay out 1400. As it turned out I got away with 800, not that it makes any difference. Alas my partner won the post mortem all the same, as much of the room was in 680 or 710 with just three in 1430 and one -100.

A petard is thrown with conviction, here it was Friday night and I was out to have fun. It could be argued that both my bids are dubious even at this vulnerability: 2 might well merely make Declarer play easier (see later in this thread) and 4 might push undecided opponents into slam (although my evaluation was that they were about to talk themselves into it anyway).
But in any case no regrets, I prefer to take sacrifices as if the room is competent and have seen that this does pay off when you find yourself against higher level competition.

There is a discussion of play of this hand here for any interested intermediates.
