I helped a pair prepare for the World Championships and used video at a partnership bidding table. It was very effective, allowing us all to chat about the actual hand and how the auction would develop if their hands were different.

However, after one hour the video would stop working and I (or the players) would have to close the video window and restart it from the table menu, This happened consistently to all three players.

I know that video degrades over time and I presume this is the problem.

Is that just something we have to live with?

It’s not directly addressing your point, but skype with voice only works effectively in that situation.

The one hour duration at casual tables was not an intentional limitation. We'll fix it in the next upgrade.
