3S was weak. The lead is the spade 10. If you test trump, easr has J98. Since the hand is cold if diamonds behave, assume they don't...which the auction suggests anyway

This hand was given to me by a friend, and I am unsure of where he got it from. I apologize if it has already been posted here or at BridgeWinners. I thought it one of the more interesting hands I've seen in years.

It looks like the problem is something like:

but if it is, GIB says you can't make it, so how do we amend it so you can ?

If you move the jack of clubs to West, then the line to make is very cool, but I'm not saying anything since all I did was look at it in double dummy. Whether East opens that hand 1, I don't know.

This hand is in Bridge Master (World Class A-20), with the pips changed. The recommended line was CY's layout with the J in the other hand.

That's what I thought when it was given to me. Had I had it at the table, I very much doubt that I would have made the contract....as it was, because I 'knew' there was a solution, I did solve it, but not in any time that makes any sense at the table.

I also tried at least two failing lines when I eventually solved it on Bridge Master. Lovely problem.

Sir,this is a beautiful yet relatively tough hand at the table. Indeed the late George S Coffin, who wrote the book ""ENDPLAYS in Bridge",would have thoroughly enjoyed this one.Sir,thanks a lot for posting this one.

I seem to recall there is a hand with a very similar theme on bridge master level 5

EDIT: I was wrong, it was not very similar theme but exactly same hand barring some peeps. Level 5 A-20
EDIT2: Oh dumb me, Wayne already found it lol.
