MPs. With an intermediate partner. Before playing you've agreed that any pre-empts (weak 2s or 3s) must include 3 of the top 5 honours. No Drury or similar. Opponents are vulnerable, you're not. Partner deals and passes, as does RHO: what do you bid?
In 3rd Position

Assuming you open 1♥ on this hand, what would be your next action(if any) if partner
responds 2♦? In answer to the lead post,I would pass this hand and await developments.

Almost too good but 3rd in hand white v red, they might make game, we wont.
Lets make it difficult
All rules should be ignored in this position

Immediately tells pd we are going nowhere unless ♥ support.
Opening 1♥ and getting 2♦ from pd may be problematic as others pointed out.
3/5 top-honours seems particularly silly in 3rd hand...

Depends on methods, 2♦ barely exists for us and where it does, partner will have at least 2 hearts so I can bid 2♥ quite happily.

I don't think it's a LIGHT opener. It's 5-5 with a void. Hell, this is a 1st seat opener for me playing with anyone under the age of 80.

If my partner bids 2 Diamonds,I shall rebid 2 Heart, If RHO passes or doubles.( penalty).I shall bid an easy 2/3 club if LHO bids1Spade or 2 Diamonds and partner doubles( negative).

Doesn't a rebid of 2♥ promise a 6+ suit(?) I only see 5

No. 2H would be the normal rebid with something like AQx KJTxx x QJxx.
edit: I wouldn't open the OP hand, it just isn't that good a hand unless you find a fit, and I'm not desperate for a heart lead.
