Looks like penalties to me.

Why would anyone want to show precisely doubleton club? I suppose it could be useful info but seems so nonstandard as to run counter to normal gib policy
Psych (pron. saik): A gross and deliberate misstatement of honour strength and/or suit length. Expressly permitted under Law 73E but forbidden contrary to that law by Acol club tourneys.
Psyche (pron. sahy-kee): The human soul, spirit or mind (derived, personification thereof, beloved of Eros, Greek myth).
Masterminding (pron. mstr-mnding) tr. v. - Any bid made by bridge player with which partner disagrees.
"Gentlemen, when the barrage lifts." 9th battalion, King's own Yorkshire light infantry,
2000 years earlier: "morituri te salutant"
"I will be with you, whatever". Blair to Bush, precursor to invasion of Iraq

"Counter to normal bridge", but I see complaints here about GIB making "exactly 2 card" doubles a lot, so maybe it is normal gib policy. They make zero sense to me. The only time I can only see an exactly 2 card double being reasonable is a strong NT/2nt opener making a takeout double after competition. In all other cases, the double ought to be 2- (2 or fewer), takeout, or 4+ (3+?), penalty. I think the developers ought to search the rule database if they can, look for doubles showing exactly 2 cards, and fix these.

Is there a conventional purpose to North's double?
Of course, there is a conventional purpose to North doubling for sure.
Usually, responder's double is able to give opener an option of doubling for penalty,or cooperative double at least.
For this hand,North's double should usually show 9-10 hcp with length in one or both of oppenent's suits, and responder have many defensive tricks in opp's suits at least enough to beat opponent's contract, never show exact 2-card ♣.so opener should pass after responder's double.
I have to say this double is very ridiculous.
Any ideas?

I think this topic is very important for Gib policy, and in fact there is a clear definition on responder doubling after unusual notrump overcall.
The developers would better think it over.
