I sometimes write our plus scores in the minus column if it's a bad result.
I snuck a drink at the bar when I said I was going to the bathroom.
I gave the director advance blessing to give us a slow-play penalty.

Those things would actually not serve "to help with a bad session" if you were planning on keeping your bridge partner.
I will say that I used to to do the first, but entirely unintentionally, and when I started writing EVERYTHING in the minus column (I tend to always concentrate on what could have gone better), I stopped keeping score. That way I stop concentrating on the bad results, and don't carry them with me to the next board. Otherwise, I will let one bad result cause me to think that EVERYTHING was bad, and it will end up being a self-fulfilling prophecy. So I just don't keep score anymore.

Well, I have found the trip to the bar helpful at times, but rather than sneaking I bring one back for my partner as well.

Badly hooked at the 1/2 in a KO once my partner arrived with 1/2 dozen beers. Put them all down in front of me and went back for more. I LOVE that man.

This tradition of having a bar handy to the playing areas is something we Amerks need to take seriously.
