Imp pairs, we're red, they're white:

(1)-Pa-(1)-X
(2)-Pa-(2)-Pa
(2N)-Pa-(Pa)-X

You play sandwich NT, so the double shows the minors with more HCP's than Distribution (1NT would show the opposite) or rarely the NT hand.
What would you take that final double as in such a context?

Also, he rates to not have a heart void when he leads the 3.

He doesn't think you are going to make it.

Why a ? I don't think this double asks for any particular lead.

Agreed, normally it's dummy's first bid suit, but wanting a spade here is very unlikely.

Yeah, it looks like a lead problem to me and I need to see my hand for that.

Wanting a Spade lead is indeed unlikely to be a special meaning for the Double, this time; but, on the auction, it seems a Spade lead would be tolerated ---and might be a better choice than an attacking lead up to Opener. General speculation, of course. We don't know what Opening Leader's hand is.

East having only three hearts does not compute, from the auction I see.

West figures to be 3-2-4-4, 4-1-4-4, or 3-1-(54) and it is highly unlikely they have an 8/9-card heart fit and that West still has enough power to Double. Maybe I shouldn't be giving the opponents and West credit for bidding reasonably.

This hand doesn't seem to match the bidding...

Thanks, Steven. I often have trouble with the English language.

On an auction like this where I expect pard to control spades but not crush the suit, declarers 2nd bid suit (on something like Axxx) is my first thought. My JTxx sort of precludes that but pard has something there and leading a low one should work out.

Our partnership agreement on such a double is "get off your natural lead" which is a diamond on this bidding. Sometimes it just means they're too high but getting off the indicated lead will beat them anyway.
