Tell your partner to leave 3NT alone?

As it is you seem to need a miracle in diamonds.

maybe if someone is void in spades and had KQ tight you can endplay him after having eliminated the rounded suits?

Interesting. Maybe we can combine that with a chance of RHO covering from Hxx.

south hand was worth a 2n bid after N 1s but after N bid 3d
S reevaluated well to bid 3n. I fail to see why N did not
understand that--------worse it is difficult to imagine what N
was thinking what 2n hand does their hand have good play
for 5d and does that same hand have good or better play for
3n. N just plain does not trust S bidding they need to work
on that aspect first or the partnership is doomed for lack of
interest.

What's interesting about this hand? There is no legitimate play for the contract.

I suspect that somehow the defence screwed something up and the OP will have thought it was due to brilliant play :P

I guess I have to play J hoping that RHO is stupid enough to cover with Qxx.

let me guess, the opponents screwed up and let you make 5, sadly clubs were 3-3 and only 1 pair managed to hold 3NT to 9, so it was almost a bottom anyway.

Yep - the correct answer is to mix your heart in with your diamonds. :P
