1S. I do not object to a heavy 2S. This is a hand posted on bridgewinners and some there passed. Now THAT I do object to.

Wel that depends on your definition of weak 2s doesn't it. Personally I think your comment is ridiculous as this may well fall into the ambit of some partnership's weak 2 range.

Hope partner clues me in to 4S sac against 4H or not.
With only DK + S-2nd in defense, that's what I project.

1 is easy for me though I could imagine it in the range of 2 for someone with a very sound style. 3 and 4 both seem very bad to me, especially 4. That's even more true at MPs where the normal result may just be playing 2.

I would only open 2 if I were playing a 8-12 weak structure. Call that super sound if you want.

Pass is old fashioned. 3 is offbeat. 4 is my 2nd choice, but its really swingy.

I would tend toward a heavy 2 playing 2/1, but wouldn't object to a partner who opened 1. Playing a light or limited opening system, 1 is clear. Anything other than 1 or 2 is a severe misrepresentation of the hand, IMO.

1...bidding 4 will likely buy it in 4-X and it's unclear that such a near commital action is warranted at these colors...

"How do you know I'm mad?" said Alice.
"You must be," said the Cat, "or you wouldn't have come here."
