Our 1D is artificial and 10-15. So we respond 1H (to 1D) with both xx Axxx x Kxxxxx and xx Axxx x AKQxxx because we play Majors Always First in Answering

Say the bidding goes 1D P 1H (2S) P P

We want 3C to be not forcing on the first and forcing on the second.

I suppose the solution is good/bad 2N. Is it worth giving up 2N natural here? How do others cope?

But I thought you play 1H as a relay...

1H is usually natural, but can be GF balanced. With GF balanced, we can double, cue or bid 3N. More often, we just have hearts.

I don't get why people keep playing natural 2NT in competition - it is not worth it.

i think i like lebensohl type 2NT better here.

No. You bid 2NT on this hand but it is not g/b. 2NT states that you have an invitational + hand in C. Opener now bids 3C not accepting Cs and 3 something else, (concentrated hons), showing a C fit.

So basically Rubensohl?

2N-clubs, inv+
3C-diamonds, inv+
3D-hearts, inv+
3H-vacant, ordinarily stayman
3S-stopper ask
3N-to play

eg after 1D 1S
2N = a) 4S-6m invite b) 4S-5+C GF 3C = declines invite if clubs, but says nothing if D 3D = accepts clubs, but not D 3M/N = accepts either minor, most descriptive
3C = weak canape, to play 3D = GF 4S-5+D 3H = GF, (5-5?)

So our 1D is artificial.

How would we play 1D P 1H (3C) P P 3D....

Is that natural and forcing?

1D P 1H (3S) P P dbl

DSIP/thrump?
