Its still a little early for mangoes I think. Ever tried them with chili lime salt? Yum.

The good news is there's an Indian store a few blocks from my house, so I think I'll stop by there tomorrow and give the chutney a whirl.

It's in a little Bollywood movie rental store, and they have a kitchen in back with some amazing food. I'd be shocked if they get passing inspection scores for cleanliness and such, but the $4.99 daily buffet is A+.

well i never eat mangoes.

i grew up in the city of mangoes

a mayor or governor in 1920 imported hundreds of trees from india, so you get mangoes for free, they also can fall on your head, so if you are waiting for the bus and hear crack, move quickly. Occasioannly they fall on your car's windshield, at night when the car is parked, or when you are stopped at the red light and cant move.

when i was about 6 years old, there was a rain storm coming and a lot of wind, mangoes were falling and we kids went outside and collected hundreds of them.

the house was full of mangoes and my mother did not know how to make jam or chutney out of them, the mangoes rotted and we were spaniked because the flies and mosquitoes that resulted.

i have a natural fear of mangoes.

the mangpes also serve a social purpose because in times of hardship you can survive on cassavameal porridge and manhoes, acai for dinner with cassava meal, but now that people say acai is a perfect food, the price skyrocketed and they are destroyuing the acai berry trees.

You can find good mangoes at ethnic stores. I've taken to shopping at hmart (korean supermarket chain). It's pretty far, and mangoes are the exact reason we drive there.

A few months ago I googled that brand of mangoes. It's grown in S America Not imported from Asia. And there were some NY store selling them for $20 per mango. That's also an option if you don't mind paying $20/mango
