It's a choice between 1 and 2 (followed by 2NT usually).

Common ways to lose by opening 1:
1. Partner has a major and passes with game makeable
2. Partner bids a major but we miss slam because he doesn't believe we are this good.

Common ways to lose by opening 2:
1. Partner is weak with no major and 2NT/3NT fails when 1 would have made
2. Partner has diamonds support and we play 3NT going down when 5 (or maybe even 6) can be bid and made after a 1 opening. But if playing inverted raises partner will bid 1NT, not 2, on quite a few of these hands.

Based on this I think 2 is better.

2 for me.

I initially thought about how I would bid this if I could show 4-4-4-1 shape (which I can in one set of methods), but I think I'd show balanced anyway.
"Gibberish in, gibberish out. A trial judge, three sets of lawyers, and now three appellate judges cannot agree on what this law means. And we ask police officers, prosecutors, defense lawyers, and citizens to enforce or abide by it? The legislature continues to write unreadable statutes. Gibberish should not be enforced as law."

Depends on what kind of hands partner will pass your 1 level openers with. With myself I would open 1D but with many people I would be scared they could pass when we have a game so I would try 2C then 2N.

Hi,

I would go with 2NT, 20-21.

Given the single Ace, and the wrong shape I am down grading,
..., may not work.

With kind regards

This is a huge hand with two great 4 card majors. Too many of my PD's may pass me out in 1. 2 for me followed by 2NT.
