3 looks about right to me. Need to know more about system to give you a better answer. Are we in a GF? What values should partner have, at a minimum, for 2?

System is natural 4° major 2 FM. It cannot have flowers.

2 was game forcing, if I understand you correctly, so it is easy to rebid 3 showing 5-5 distribution, isn't it ?
