Although a club game or even slam could well be on, the lack of real good fits and potential for bad breaks makes me want to take the sure plus and pass the double.

Can I double also?

Why is this a sure plus?
I'd have thought it has a good chance of making.

Partner's decision to double rather than bidding 4 means that he's willing for me to pass this, so he should have a spade as well as a good hand. In that case, a forcing defence should be quite productive.
... that would still not be conclusive proof, before someone wants to explain that to me as well as if I was a 5 year-old. - gwnn

Partner had

Scoring: IMP

RHO had

Scoring: IMP

4H makes. This was bid at the other table after an initial 2H overcall

3SX is one off on any vaguely sensible defence.

I don't like the double with a void in opps' suit although of course the three aces are nice for defense. Prefer 4. South was right in converting the double IMHO. Assuming North had somthing close to 15(52) the pass is very lawful.

I don't like the Michael's cue bid this hand. This is not within cooee of a M cue for me. This is a 2H overcall.

I was considering to bid 3NT, but I expect hands that make a cue-bid and than dbl to be a little stronger.
