I like this hand and would have bid 2D instead of 3C. Now I like the hand even more. I'd bid 4H if partner would understand that that is a cuebid, else 4D or 4S.
Please note: I am interested in boring, bog standard, 2/1.

I would begin with 2. which should not say "oops I forgot to open 2" but show 5 spades and some club support (xxx or Qx would do).

Partner's 3 bid is not primarily looking for 4, he might have only 3 spades. Anyway, I bid 4.
The world would be such a happy place, if only everyone played Acol :) --- TramTicket

I would bid 2D, showing a good club raise, on the first round. I wouldn't bid 2S, which as a passed hand should show better spades and is not forcing, as I'm too good for it and too suitable for clubs.

Over 3S I bid 4H, which has to be a cuebid.

Although I am not as averse to fit non-jumps as some others, I think the 2-level is too low to play them. And I certainly wouldn't assume this without the agreement.

I agree that partner might bid a fragment here hoping that we can bid 3NT with a diamond stopper. If so we got lucky.

Isn't this an obvious 4? :)

Unless the question is whether to bid 4 or 4, that is :)

I think that is the question, do we just bid 4 or try something stronger? I don't agree at all that 3 could be less than a 4 card suit, if partner had a stronger hand with no major to bid he would double 3. I like Hannie's 4 bid, it seems like there is no way that can be natural.

I would have bid 2 at my last turn.
Please let me know about any questions or interest or bug reports about GIB.
