Standard American. Four card suits up the line. No Walsh. We do not bypass a four card suit we can bid at the one level.

Partner has uncovered a couple of aces,
Sorry, the auction makes no sense

3NT=Minimum balanced hand
1S gf
Why?
Even in SA you can't bid one spade here with 6HCP
Yes even in SA you can bypass diamonds and not call it Walsh

Call 1S 4Sf to game if you prefer

Is the "partner" of the title North or South?

I'm guessing South, it's North's bid

Hi,

The q not answered is, is 1H forcing, i.e. after responder made the 1D call,
is responder forced to bid again over 1H.
Personally I think, if you can answer 1D, you can also bid again over 1H.

Assuming 1H was forcing, I think the 3NT bid is similar to 3NT in the auction

1C - 1S
3NT

I am assuming 1S is natural in your seq.

3NT is commonly played as unbal., spade shortage, every other suit covered.
Given that responder has bid 2-suits my take is, that opener has a diamond shortage,
diamonds rates to be longer, even if you bid diamonds with 44, which I dont, and I
also dont play Walsh, and that he is something like 2?-4-1?-6.

It is an interesting question, what opener should do with 3 spades to discover a
possible 53 in spades.

With kind regards
Marlowe
