Haha, the thread title made me laugh.

I bid 3, it may be wrong but the pressure is on.

If you do, it's not clear what will happen next, largely depends on E

I don't understand the auction in the spoiler?

Actions in brackets are by the opps, so this is round the table so 3 -P -3 and partner doubles etc

I understand that part, it looks like opener came back in with 4 and I bid 4?

Responder came back in with 4 and partner bid 4 (you made a penalty pass of 3x)

Pass to you

Right, you force me to pass 1st round. I wouldn't, but ok.

It was spoilered with "If you pass first round as my partner did".

If you bid 3 first time LHO could do various things but I don't know what they'd choose.

My first thought was a raise to 4 that might want a spade lead

No problem with the initial Pass. After partner's strong sequence, I think it's time for us to show our values with a slam try, so I'll bid 5 playing standard. Mike's 5NT would come out poorly if the opps are in a 9 card fit and partner is missing the A+K, which does not seem at all impossible. It's also somewhat tempting to show the spades to stop LHO from being a smart-a$$ but while we might suspect we have a spade fit, we know we have a heart fit and the 5 level is not the time for such lessons.

I pass initially, then end up bidding 5N.

I don't think partner has guaranteed 4 hearts.

I am confident that CY would have told us if he and his partner don't play this X and bid sequence as a strong flexible hand type. If I had to guess the shape it would be 1451 plus 2 non-hearts. If the hand doesn't have 4 hearts though, I will be quite shocked.

I don't believe partner only has 5D for their 4D call on this auction.

You are thinking how I was thinking, x56x might be possible too but x46x most likely.

You haven't mentioned whether you play Leaping Michaels so I was taking 6-5 off of the table. :D
I nearly wrote x46x in the previous post but I wanted to be as broad as possible - it also seems to me by far the most likely shape. Did you look for the slam here? If partner has first round club control, we might even have a grand on (QJxx AKQJxx A is more than enough) but I don't think it's reasonable to sort that out in the space, so just getting to 6 whenever partner has a club control ought to be a decent score on average.
