Okay, the result wasn't very interesting, but I beat my "fastest auction" record.

You hold:
As you're trying to work out what you're going to open in third seat, partner ... puts 2 on the table. Playing 2/1.

Partner is a decent A player, maybe a bit stuck in her ways.

I just assumed that she had AKQxxxxx and a card, "8.5 tricks is a 2 opener", and pulled out the smallest card. Beat my 2-2; 7NT auction by one bid.

(Oh, the hand? I got a diamond lead, so there were 21 tricks.)

Does 1 - P - P - P count?

Duplicated. I hope it ended up better than us, down 1 with 7420 break and Jxxx offside.

This one made, and was worth virtually all the matchpoints as some didn't open 3N due to a void and never caught up

I don't have the sheer number of boards played to compete.
I do remember one 1N-5N-7N which is 3 calls if somewhat scholastic.

I only have one "one bid" slam, not 7N.

P-(4)-P-(P)-6 was the auction, can you guess what the hand was ?

Well, on BBO, there have been plenty of opening 7NT bids. There may have even been one of two that actually made 13 tricks.

There was this board from last year's Australian Seniors' and Women's playoff final that I believe was opened 7NT at all four tables.

Love it, once in a lifetime.

What I actually had was void, Ax, x, 10 solid, figured I'd get more info by passing, partner had K, we still lost IMPs, was doubled at the other table

Not even that often, if you mean once dealt to you.

I think you would still have to be very lucky.
But I can simulate to check, no need for the tricks function this time :)

I was right, the odds are very small indeed.

I hacked and ran the script below to check.
The odds of North spades being solid are just over one in a hundred.
The odds of both North spades and hearts being solid are about 80 per million.
The odds of North spades, hearts and diamonds all being solid are about 0.6 per million.
I was unable to produce a single board with all North four suits solid in 100 million hands generated, but the previous numbers suggest about 6 per billion.
If you play 20 boards a day for all your adult life that is about 0.4 million boards, so your odds of being at the table where a cold 7NT hand is dealt to North look to be around 1 in 400, or 1 in 100 that it is dealt to anyone at the table. Most of us will play a lot less boards than that :)

Dealer script
Spoiler

I assumed for brevity that AKJQT2 will not lose a trick, so the real odds are slightly worse than measured.

Amazing, it appears that I will need to play more.
