Note in particular East's mind-blowingly stupid play of a SPADE at trick three rather than a club. I've seen single grains of salt with more intelligence than these GIBBO imbeciles.

We scored 60.7 % on the board for "only" going down two in 5C, but that's not the issue. The score - WHATEVER it is - is NEVER the issue. The issue is ALWAYS exposing the repulsive GIBBO robots for what they are.

We salvaged 64.3 % on the board for taking the obvious and untouchable 12 tricks in 3NT.

Johnny Halfwit in the East...stupidly JUMPS to THREE spades rather than either bidding a straightforward TWO spades OR making a responsive double. Johnny Halfwit lives DOWN to his VERY descriptive and VERY appropriate surname.

Their system is pure garbage, but it IS their system, so they should either FOLLOW it or JUNK it.
Actually, the simplest and best solution is for BBO to JUNK the entire system, JUNK all the pathetic definitions, JUNK the hopeless, hapless, sickening robots, and replace ALL of the forementioned with something DECENT. It's hard to imagine that there could be ANYTHING worse than this longstanding horror show.

But in the useless pile of stinking garbage that passes for a "system" in GIBBO's Bizarro World, 3S by South would be a SPLINTER! The INSANITY never ends with GIBBO: pure GARBAGE from top to bottom, side to side, and all around and in between. Throw it out or put it in a one-way space capsule to Mars!

We scored 81.82 % for making THREE (!) overtricks in 2D, but as always it's irrelevant whether we scored zero, 100, or anything in-between. The issue is that EVERYTHING about GIBBO rots!

Here's that promised addition: All told, NS have FOUR losers in their 2S contract.
"What was the result on the board?" a GIBBO robot asks the person reading to him. (His caregiver?)
The result was that NS made...ELEVEN tricks.
I'll continue typing slowly so that any GIBBO robots can follow along.
Since NS had...FOUR losers, they SHOULD have made only NINE tricks.
"Please type MORE slowly," screams a GIBBO robot, "This is SO confusing. I don't understand."
Well, Mr. GIBBO robot, it means that EW defended SO badly that they blew TWO tricks: a club, and even worse, a diamond (thanks to West's stupid and cowardly pop of the diamond ace).
"Oh, now I get it," says the robot VERY proudly, "and I guess it was two of my fellow GIBBO robots sitting EW."
You got that last part EXACTLY right, Mr. GIBBO robot. Well done, Sir!

The main reason I'm writing this post, however, is to diss the first three words of the definition: "Game in notrump". No KIDDING, Mr. GIB, is 3NT really "game" in NT? Or perhaps a better question is "Why do you PERSIST in including such unnecessary, useless, annoying, insulting TRASH such as this in your always pathetic and often inaccurate or incomplete definitions?"

Just compare his wild and crazy (thanks, Steve Martin) approach here, to his cowardly bidding in post #1685!

North passes and East opens 1H. South doubles. West bids 1S.
North passes. East, our FOCUS for this post, bids 2H. Presumably, he feels that 2H is a call that PERFECTLY describes his hand. Note that 2H is not forcing, and not even invitational. It could easily END the auction.
But it doesn't end the auction, because South doubles a second time. South's second double is defined as "Takeout double; 4-5 clubs; 4-5 diamonds; 2- hearts; 3-4 spades; 16+ total points". This is fairly simple to the definition of South's first double. The only differences are that this second one promises at least FOUR of each minor, whereas his first double only promised at least THREE of each minor, and that the first double advertised "12+ total points" whereas this second one advertises "16+". Thus, the only really relevant new information is that South's minimum strength is guaranteed to be a little higher than it might have been earlier.
West passes, and North, who HAS to bid SOMETHING, bids 3D.
Now, without even looking at East's hand, and without even knowing any of his cards, what would his possible calls LOGICALLY be?
I'd say the MOST logical is pass. He previously bid a PASSABLE 2H. His partner West HEARD him open the bidding and also HEARD him bid 2H over his (West's) 1S bid. West, who therefore presumably has a good idea of East's hand at this point, thanks to the 1H and 2H calls, COULD have done something over South's second double with extras or if he thought it wise to act, but he DIDN'T, so WEST has given East NO incentive to bid again. If anything, East has LESS incentive to bid now, because it's obviously a level higher, and West has offered NO encouragement...AND East's LHO, South, HAS shown EXTRA values via his second double. Also, the presumed "big" enemy hand (South's) is BEHIND East. There seems to be VERY little incentive for East to do anything other than pass.
BUT...East COULD have longer hearts (even though his 2H bid promised at least 6), so it's POSSIBLE that he's willing to RISK bidding 3H. So, that's the second most likely possibility.
The ONLY other logical possibility would be a double (depending on what exactly that means in GIBBO bidding), but that seems like the least likely of the ONLY three logically possible choices.
So, what did East do? Pass? Bid 3H? Double?
Answer: NONE of the above! INCREDIBLY (and insanely - WHATEVER his hand was!), he...JUMPED (!!!) to FOUR (!!!) hearts!
Once again, you do not even have to look at his hand to know that his bidding here was MADNESS, complete madness! If his 4H call was a GOOD bid, then his earlier 2H call, which was PASSABLE, HAD to be a BAD choice. Conversely, if his earlier PASSABLE 2H was a GOOD bid, then his current JUMP (!) to FOUR hearts cannot possibly be wise!
There is NO logic to what these GIBBO imbeciles do.

I was the one who elected to bid 5H over East's 4S opener. Was I right? Wrong? Brilliant? Crazy? Well, you can form your own opinion, but I think it comes down to what the random layout of the random hand happened to be. As I've often stated, bridge is a game of skill, but it's also a game HUGELY dependent on random luck and random layouts. You might be a hero if you make a call and the layout is favourable; you might be a zero if you make the exact same call and the layout is unfavourable. Obviously, I was aware of all that and decided to take a shot...a dangerous and aggressive shot. To be honest, I probably would NOT have done that in a "real" bridge game with humans, where I might be harming my HUMAN partner or HUMAN teammates. With robots, though, it's more of a "Who cares? Why not? Let's experiment. Let's have some fun." situation, since nothing important is at stake. If it works, great. If not, big deal: I haven't hurt anybody but myself, and I haven't REALLY even hurt myself either, because it's just a relatively meaningless robot game played for fun.
But this post is not about me. It's never about me, it's never about any other humans, and it's never about results. It's ALWAYS about one thing and one thing only: Bashing GIB/GIBBO (as stated in the title Diana gave this thread when she wisely created it in August 2025). The PURPOSE of the bashing is to expose just how unbearably WRETCHED everything about GIB/GIBBO is, in the hope that the powers that be will be persuaded to get rid of it and replace it with DECENT robots. That would benefit all BBO members, players, and customers, and it would MOST benefit BBO itself by increasing customer loyalty and attracting NEW customers in an era where there are now many other bridge sites competing with BBO.
So, this post right now is about bashing the GIBBO robot sitting West, who FAILED to double 5H. He HAD to know that 5H would be destroyed, and did he REALLY think that if he doubled we would have a safe suit to escape to? First, it would have to be clubs or diamonds, so it would be at the SIX level, and second, even if we DID have a profitable escape, we might not be able to figure it out. In practice, even if we did escape to the "best" spot, we would have to go down at LEAST two, and surely if 5H had been doubled, any "escape" would also be doubled. So EVEN if there was an escape suit, and even if we managed to find it, and even if we ONLY went two down, it would be doubled, so at the VERY best we would be minus FIVE hundred as opposed to the "mere" minus FOUR hundred that we got for down four NOT DOUBLED in 5H.
In other words, it was ridiculous for West not to double 5H...both in theory AND in practice.
