Who ‘expects’ anything so specific? I ‘expect’ a 6 card heart suit and somewhere between 6 and a bad 10 hcp. Yes. I expect most of the strength to be in hearts but, given our hand, there’s a reasonable possibility that he holds something useful in spades. As I say..I do not ‘expect’ 3N to be cold. I ‘hope’ it may have play.

What I’m hoping for, not expecting, is what I set out in my earlier post. I think you’re reading others’ views through your own lens.

First seat NV to me has never meant 9 or 10. I could see KQ, QJ10xxx. xxx, xx. Whether to take the shot at game or not is less clear I think at these colors.
