When a player leaves mid hand Basic GIB 2/1 stands in to help us finish the hand. Great- very helpful, thank you BBO!

But in my experience GIB can make some rum decisions

As I understand it GIB (Ginsberg Intelligent Bridgeplayer) gave Matthew a great boost by artificial intelligence in our great game- well done!

But it was 1998/1999 that GIB won the World Computer-Bridge Championship

Since Jack won 10 years, and recently Micro Bridge won last

I wonder if we could re-visit our robot substitutes?

Thank you for reading this

We have been developing a new robot called Ben, which uses machine learning, for the past few years. You can read more about it here.

We've been increasing the use of other bridge robots; for instance, if you join BBO+, you can choose the bidding system if you use robots at a regular table. But if or when we might switch to using one of them in place of GIB as the substitute for users who leave mid-hand I can't say at this time.
