I felt rather unlucky here with 0%

Hoping to claim that not all my 0s are misjudgement or error - maybe the stats show it is - can David run an analysis please :) - EDIT just ran one which backs up the Pass as better option

Note - interested to read on the Bridgebum that you need 5 major - GiB 2/1 Cappelletti only asks for 4

I do feel it was rather lucky to make 10 tricks :)

Maybe it was designed for rubber bridge and not duplicate :)

South intervenes vulnerable with a terrible agreement and pays the price.

What are the right times to use Cappelletti

3rd seat favourable or 3rd seat unfavorable :)

Or not at all

If you aren't going to get them down 2 tricks are you likely to score positive anywy

If we were unfavourable it would have scored better. Almost a top. Sorry if they were white

Maybe a double instead

The idea with competing against any 1NT opening with a conventional bid is having some distribution in your hand, not competing when balanced with a 4432 hand. Capp should show at least 54xx or better distribution with the suits, with emphasis on the longer suit being the major when overcalling 2 or 2. So technically, with 4M4m you should not use Capp. The danger with any overcall of 1NT, even a weak NT opening, is that the opener is quite limited in shape and range, so it is easier for his partner to judge penalising you should you end up in a bad contract by using Capp, Landy, DONT or any of the other of the defenses to 1NT.
