There's a simple solution to this: Someone who always plays at a very slow tempo, even when they're playing a singleton, should simply not enable auto-play if they don't want their opponents to be able to detect this.
We took pains to ensure that the auto-play is not instantaneous. It takes about a second, which we assume is comparable to how long most people take to play a singleton by hand.
We don't keep a record of each player's normal pace, so we can't match that. If they're normally very deliberate, then auto-play will stand out, so they should disable it.
