and when you check in and click "bring me to the first available place"you end up in e/w in 90% of the time.

The new client uses the same server, and no changes were made to the dealing.

This is a server function, and wasn't changed.
EW is probably more likely in general because many people set up a table with themselves in South, a regular partner in North, and then they wait for randoms to join in the other seats.
