Hello, I am new the forum.
I wanted to post this is the proper spot, but it would not let me create it in the bridge materials section.
What books would you recommend to a new bridge player? ( I am not really new, but it has been years since I have played and want to basically forget everything and start over).
Also I am looking for people to play, learn, and teach me things. One that wont bite my head off if I make a mistake

IMO:
To begin:"Bridge for Dummies" by Eddie Kantar
ACBL/Bridgebase learn to play bridge software: https://web3.acbl.or...-learn-software
Then:Bill Root, "How to Play a Bridge Hand", "How to Defend a Bridge Hand"
and/orVictor Mollo and Nico Gardener, "Card Play Technique".
From these you will have solid foundation, after you master the material there are dozens of worthwhile books depending on what aspect of bridge you want to improve.

Thank you for your input.
I remember having Bridge for Dummies back when I was in Highschool. But I can grab that one again without problem. I will take a look at the others and make a selection or two.
.
Follow up question. Are the beginner robots that I can rent for a week good enough for practice as a beginner?
Is there a large difference between skill?

Google Baron Barclay. You can sign up for their free bridge problem hands.
Bridge with Larry Cohen also offers free bridge lessons.
I would cruise a used book store. Almost anything by Reese,
Kantar, Mollo or Mike Lawrence should be worthwhile.
