This is the first time I see GIB miscount points so badly:
... and I can prove it with my usual, flawless logic.

I have no idea what happened in your case. I just checked the situation and got 3♦ via Lebensohl with an 8-HCP hand and also with this hand:
♠2 ♥8632 ♦T985 ♣K862,
the label is "4+ ♦; 9- total points". Strange.

Can't replicate it at a bidding table either - basic GIB responds with 2NT. Were you booted from the table during the hand at all? Since m1cha posted an example of that causing hands to change..

No I wasn't... I played a bunch of instant tournaments and this was one of the hands.

I hope you can see it.

It's a known bug, but hard to fix since it usually doesn't replicate. Think of it more as getting lebensohl backwards than miscounting points. It is being looked into.
Please let me know about any questions or interest or bug reports about GIB.
