What does (should?) this 4C bid mean?

MPs, W v W
I haven't got the hands but 2D bid was something like:
Jxxx
Hx
AKTxxx
K
(1H) 2D (p) 4C
We playing 2/1.
Ops playing Acol so could be 4-card major.
What do you expect from pard and what's your bid?
As always, thanks in advance,
Simon

I play it as a fit-showing jump, agreeing diamonds & showing length & strength in clubs.
It is also possible to play it as a splinter, though obviously my hand tends to argue against that definition.
Whatever it is, it certainly implies a good hand with diamond support, and my hand is not improved by it, so I'm bidding 4♦.
This should never be a club preempt without diamond support, or a strong hand with clubs but without diamonds.

Here is what I know:
--The condition, "2/1" doesn't apply to overcalls of their 1-bids at the 2-level.
--Our agreement that a jump-shift response to an overcall is strong doesn't apply to this one.
--My hand tells me the opponents do not have 11 or twelve clubs.
--So, when the gun is put to my head because I must to something: I guess partner's bid is fit-showing, even though That leaves the opponents with a lot of hearts and points. 4♦
I guess there is one more possibility: pard manufactured a "mixed" raise with 5 diamonds but not entirely broke....nondescript about his club holding. But she wouldn't do that in a B/I forum...

Sadly we don't play fit showing jumps so I took CHO for having good Clubs and an opening hand. Unfortunately he has a
I shall keep trying to reign him in and suggest fit showing jumps here.

Simon
PS This is the only partner I can get who is willing to play 2/1, the rest around here all want to play natural Acol so I will be persevering
