No just meant RHO overcalling 5C red and being a sound person heh. Wouldn't surprise me if he had some crazy shape but it doesn't really matter to me as I have AKQ of clubs.

It seems quite likely that partner will take the double out, but that's probably OK. Maybe he'll end up running club winners through LHO's trump holding.

I would guess he would usually bid something with a void and usually pass with a stiff. Obv depends on his exact hand, but generally speaking. If I remember correctly 655321 thinks X of 5C is penalty and partner should almost never pull, I think that is a minority view but I def wouldn't expect partner to just bid with a 5431 hand or even a hand with more shape that's kinda bad and has a club. I think he will even pass with 5440 sometimes out of fear of bidding the wrong red suit.

I don´t see the alternative to double, RHO might be 85 or something, I don´t expect very good breaks if we play, so forcing us to play with only 8 trumps is not promising.

I think making any call but X is whacko if you are playing IMPS. MPs may have a case for something other than X

Surely the only remotely difficult thing is if partner bids 5S, should you raise?

It seems pretty plausible that if partner pulls he probably has something like KQxxxxx AKx Kxx - or something, in which case 6S is a virtual claimer.

6S or 5S could be right. Would probably take the low road. There are always unpleasant surprises after big preempts.
