I don't open anything. I call the director as I only have 8 cards.

1, nothing else fits

hanp. worst. practical joke. ever.
I once yelled at my partner for discarding the 'wrong' card when he was subjected to a squeeze that I allowed by giving the wrong count with too high a card. Now he's allowed to pitch aces when the opponents have the king in the dummy. At trick 2. When he could have followed suit. And blame me.

yes it is a trick question....with only one major suit card, someone might think a large number of diamonds is appropriate.

I'm no longer going to try to decipher a failed attempt to a lame notation method.

I don't think 5D is unreasonable here.

It also saves us from the Hog's opinion, worth a couple of additional trees of frustration.

have you considered a simple compression algorithm? for example if we note KQ as M, the hand in cause become - Q MT5 M2. very usefull i think.

No. I made up the notation because the "x" on my keyboard didn't work. It's working now so I don't need it anymore.

1D.

5D is certainly a sensible alternative, but nobody stops me from bidding
5D later.

With kind regards

PS: Oh, I dont like this notation.

I like 5 as I have no hope to decribe after 1 anyway. And sorry I don't like this notation at all because it overlaps with showing your exact cards.
Please let me know about any questions or interest or bug reports about GIB.

Depends if you can assume that you have 13 cards. If you can, it is unambiguous that
AKQJ
AKQJ
AKQJ
2
is normal notation, while
AKQJ
AKQJ
AKQ
2
is hanp notation.

Just think - we could have avoided all this simply by clubbing together to buy him a new keyboard.
