Defence.
Declarer draws trumps and leads a spade to the 10 and J. If West takes this, East can be squeezed in the blacks, South leading ♣J at some point to force a cover.
Instead, West should duck the spade, which spoils the timing for the squeeze.

Offense
This looks like a transfer menaces simple squeeze on east in the black suits.. Lead ♣J, to isolate ♣ and ♠ threats in EAST hand...
But WEST has a counter, simply refuse to correct teh count by ducking the spade jack. This fails to correct the count and the squeeze will fail.
However. sadly for EW, even if WEST is smart enough to duck one spade, the club spots are horrible for EW... After AK of clubs (with jack to force teh queen), the dummy's leads the nine... if EAST covers, south ruffs and the low club in dummy is good for a spade discard. If he doesn't cover, the nine wins. Reverse the five and seven of clubs, it takes a defensive error by WEST to let this make. As it is, it is cold (more or less). Non-double dummy, not sure if he will make it however.

Can't declarer just set up the club 6 for a pitch?

Ah yes. Draw trumps, set up side suit, cash winners.

Correct. The club suit offers an easy 10th trick if you look closely enough. The spade duck to avoid rectifying the count is a distraction to the real theme of the hand.
Benito played this and Federico Primavera grabbed the 1st spade so a squeeze developed. We'll never know what would happen with a smooth duck.
